With automation, any developer can bring experiences, limited only by your imagination, to the connected home. Join us as we learn how to build an application that uses the new SmartThings APIs to integrate connected devices with other services.

HOW THIS FITS INTO IOT
SmartThings is the IoT platform of Samsung, enabling developers and organizations to connect devices and add intelligence to the home.

WHAT ATTENDEES DO

Developers will build a SlackBot to integrate their SmartThings-connected devices to demonstrate how using the SmartThings REST APIs allows us to create powerful integrations with other services.

Laptop

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Basic knowledge of web service development, Git.

PRE-CLASS SETUP
Download the SmartThings mobile app and create a Samsung account.
You should also have Git, Node.js, and npm installed on your laptop.

WHAT ATTENDEES RECEIVE

Attendees will receive a LIFX WiFi bulb (SmartThings-compatible with no Hub required).
